Meet the Teacher:
My name is Rayn Brown and I’m the 7th-grade teacher at Our Lady of Victory School. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and what better place to teach than the school I formerly attended? I’ve been a teacher for 5 years and absolutely love it. I currently teach Mathematics and Science for 6, 7, and 8th grade. Teaching has always been a passion of mine. Each and every day brings new exciting experiences and adventures. It is important to me that students are in a safe, open, and fun learning environment because that's where the best learning occurs.

ELA consists of reading, writing, grammar, and spelling/vocabulary. I will be using the New York Progress (English Language Arts) for all my classes. These books are aligned with Common Core Standards with emphasis on reading for information, reading literature, writing essays, and building and enhancing vocabulary.
The curriculum used includes six modules that focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Each module is intended to last a quarter of a school year; the addition of two extra modules allows for teacher choice throughout the year. The modules will sequence and scaffold content that is aligned with the CCLS for ELA & Literacy.
